This policy explains what information AI1st Radio collects, how we use it, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to the AI1st Radio apps for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Android and Windows, including the AI1st Radio Teens app, the AI1st Radio Kids app, and the Kids and Teens modes inside the standard app, and to our website at ai1st.fm.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party advertising. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

1.Information we collect

1.1 Information you give us

  • Account information. You can use AI1st Radio without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique account identifier from that provider. We may also receive your email address and name, but only if you choose to share them. Apple lets you hide your email address. If you sign in with Apple and with Google using the same verified email address, we link them to the same account. Addresses created with Apple’s “Hide My Email” are never used for this.
  • Family plans. If you join someone else’s plan, the person who owns the plan can see your display name, the date you joined and the email address you sign in with. Addresses created with Apple’s “Hide My Email” are not shown. Other members of the plan can see your display name, but not your email address.
  • Content you create. This includes the following:
    • Comments you post and replies to other comments.
    • Likes on comments.
    • Reports you file about other people’s comments.
    • The list of accounts you have blocked.
    • Notes and bookmarks inside audiobooks.
    • Playlists.
    • Saved “My Vibe” mixes.
    • Podcasts you follow.
    • Your bookshelf order.
  • Support messages. This covers anything you send us through “Feedback” in the app. You can choose whether to include diagnostic details, which are the app version, platform and device model.
  • Children’s profiles. A parent or guardian can create a child profile. See Section 7.

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and app information. When the app first starts, it creates a random installation ID. This ID is not your device’s advertising identifier. We also collect the platform, the app version, the app flavor (standard, Teens or Kids) and your time zone.
  • Approximate location. We collect your country only. It comes from your device’s region setting or from your IP address. We use it to show radio stations from your own country and to apply regional rules. We do not collect precise location.
  • Listening activity. This covers what you play and where you stopped, so that you can resume. It also covers how many seconds you listen each day, which we need to run the free daily listening time. It also covers which items you like.
  • Push notification tokens. We collect these only if you allow notifications.
  • Purchase information. We record the product, status and expiry date of your subscription. The transaction records from Apple, Google or Stripe are what show you are entitled to access. We never receive your full card number.
  • Server logs. These include request times, the address that was requested, IP address and error information. We use them for security and troubleshooting. Search terms are removed from our logs.

1.3 Apple Music (optional)

If you connect Apple Music, the app uses Apple’s MusicKit on your device to play music and to show your Apple Music content. You may also turn on “Personalize with Apple Music”. We then store and use the Apple Music information you authorize — recently played, heavy rotation, Replay, Apple’s recommendations for you, your library, playlists, ratings and favorites — to personalize what the app shows you from Apple Music. We never store Apple Music audio. When you turn this setting off or delete your account, we delete the Apple Music–derived listening records we hold.

1.4 What we do not collect

We do not collect:

  • precise location
  • contacts
  • photos or videos
  • microphone recordings (voice input is turned into text on your device or by your device’s speech service, and the audio never reaches our servers; see Section 1.5)
  • health information
  • your browsing history in other apps
  • your advertising identifier

1.5 Voice input (optional)

You can tap the microphone button in search to speak instead of type. The app asks for microphone permission the first time. Your speech is turned into text, and only that text is used, in the same way as a typed search (see Section 2). The app does not save the audio, not even on your device, and we do not receive or store any recordings of your voice on our servers.

  • iPhone and iPad. Speech recognition runs entirely on your device, using a speech model built into the app. Your voice is never sent over the internet.
  • Android (standard app and Teens). The app uses the speech recognition service built into your device, and asks it to recognize speech on the device where possible. If on-device recognition is not available on your device, the provider of that service (for example Google or Samsung) may process the audio on its own servers to return the text, under its own privacy policy.
  • Kids. In the Kids app and Kids mode, voice input is offered only where speech can be recognized on the device itself. If it cannot, the microphone button is not shown. A child’s voice is never sent to us or to a speech service’s servers.

2.How we use information

We use the information above to:

We do not use your information for third-party advertising. We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

AI answers and your consent

AI answers in search are optional and off until you turn them on.

  • How you turn it on. The first time you use search, we show a checkbox above the search box with a short notice. We send what you type to the AI providers listed in Section 3 only after you tick it. You can also turn AI on later with “Turn on AI”.
  • What happens when it is on. The providers interpret your request and write a short answer. We do not store your query in our database, and it is removed from our logs.
  • Teens. The Teens app and Teens mode work the same way: no AI answers until you give consent. Answers also follow stricter content rules and pass an automated safety review before they are shown.
  • Kids. AI answers are never available in Kids experiences, and nothing a child types is sent to a third-party AI provider.
  • Withdrawing consent. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings. After that, search runs only on our own servers again. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.

This may be the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK–US data bridge”), the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK Addendum, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

Live radio stations

When you listen to a live radio station, your device connects directly to that station’s own streaming server, because that is how live radio is delivered. The station operator can see your IP address and handles that connection information under its own privacy policy, not ours. A station’s website opens in your browser only if you tap “Station website”.
